Biography:

YENG CONSTANTINO

Yeng first appeared in the first season of ABS-CBN’s “Pinoy Dream Academy” (also known as PDA) where she won as the Grand Star Dreamer. She became popular for her composition, “Hawak Kamay”, which turned into a great hit and was included in the 4-part compilation album of PDA Season 1.

Other hit compositions of Yeng are: “Awit ng Pangarap”, which eventually became the reality program’s theme song; “If We Fall In Love”, her romantic duet with former PDA scholar, RJ Jimenez; and “Salamat”, her winning piece during the contest and the carrier single of her multi-platinum debut album under Star Records. She also entered local and international concerts and music scenes. Her first solo major concert was held at the Aliw Theater in June 2007.

As a successful recording artist, her follow up album, “Journey” has reached a Gold Record Award. This was followed by an all-original album, “Lapit,” where she collaborated with another music icon, Raymond Marasigan. Her songs, “Jeepney Love Story” and “Wag Na” also became popular and were consistent chart-topper in MYX Philippines, ABS-CBN’s music video channel. Yeng was also included in major compilation albums of Star Records like “Nagmamahal Kapamilya Album” which reached a Sextuple Platinum Award and “May Bukas Pa: Conversations of Bro and Santino” where she sang “Sana”.

The rockoustic princess was chosen to perform theme songs of top-rating television programs of ABS-CBN like “Wag Mong Iwan ang Puso” for “Ysabella” and “Walang Hanggan” where she collaborated with Ney Dimaculangan for “Imortal”. She was also chosen to record theme songs for Star Cinema’s top-grossing movies like “Hawak Kamay” for “Kasal, Kasali, Kasalo” and “Habambuhay” for “Sakal, Sakali, Saklolo.”

As a host, Yeng is a mainstay host and performer in the long-running variety show of ABS-CBN, “ASAP” where she performs with the country’s leading singers like Gary Valenciano, Zsa Zsa Padilla, Martin Nieverra, Erik Santos, Sarah Geronimo, Christian Bautista and more. She is also one of the hosts of ABS-CBN’s “M.U. Live”, a daily late night musical talk show in ABS-CBN and is also aired in Studio 23.

Recently, Yeng is working with an all-female band project under Star Records named SESA together with Acel Van Ommen. As part of their collaboration, they composed the song and produced “Palawan” which they also recorded for the “Save Palawan Advocacy Campaign” featuring Gloc-9. She also ventured into directing music videos as she did the latest single of Jamie Rivera entitled “Letting Go.” Yeng is currently preparing for her first live album still under the leading record label which will be held on June 17, 2011 at Teatrino. Her performances will be featured in “M.U. Live” and the album will released this July 2011.
